The Renaissance of Etching: From Dürer to Bruegel, Exhibition, Albertina, Vienna: Until 1 November 2020

The Albertina will be hosting an exhibition created in cooperation with the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

The exhibition in the ALBERTINA is dedicated to the first 70 years of etching: from its beginnings in the Dürer period to the era of Bruegel, when many famous and less well-known artists in Germany, Flanders, Italy and France worked with this technique. Among the pioneers of the medium were some of the greatest Renaissance artists such as Albrecht Dürer, Parmigianino and Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Around 125 etchings can be seen alongside drawings, printing plates and illustrated books.
