The main botanical garden of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan was founded in 1932 and covers an area of 108 hectares at an altitude of about 900 m. above sea level.

The excursion department organizes interesting walks - excursions around the exposition of the garden, located according to the botanical and geographical principle (flora of Kazakhstan, Russia, Crimea and the Caucasus, North America). In the placement of plants, the park-landscape principle was used. The collection of the garden has hundreds of varieties of roses, dozens of varieties of peonies, asters, tulips, lilacs, as well as various trees and other plants, including medicinal and fruit crops.

During the walk, you can admire the rose garden, oak forest, coniferous grove. The highlight of the program is the exposition greenhouse, which includes several departments, where more than 1000 species of plants are presented - palms, bananas, bamboos, cacti, aquatic tropical and other forms.
