This is one of the first exhibitions, designed in dialogue with the artist, to offer a journey through a landscape engaging both the mind and the body, with a representative collection that illustrates the different directions of his works.
Charles Ray’s oeuvre of works, while few in number (around 100 to date), is extremely rich. You will find yourself asking : “what is a sculpture?” The artist offers multiple answers. His work is informed by an in-depth knowledge of the history of sculptural art, from ancient Greek sculptures to the creations of some of his contemporaries, and is distinguished by its immediacy.
