Dinmukhamed Konaev Akhmedovich was a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR and a deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR. Three times Hero of Socialist Labor, he was awarded eight Orders of Lenin, Orders of the Red Banner of Labor, Orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree as well as many medals.
The opening of the Konaev Museum in Almaty took place in 2001 and was timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of Dinmukhamed Konaev. The museum includes has over 3,000 exhibits in two exhibition halls, one of which displays stuff related to his childhood and youth. The second includes exhibits that recount the historical and cultural heritage as well as the educational work of this public figure
Of great interest are the personal belongings of Dimash Akhmedovich: a library of technical, reference and fictional literature, art albums, books with inscriptions from their authors, furniture, household items, numerous birthday gifts, and various items which reveal his hobbies.
