Inspired by the mythical heroes of Abbé Prévost, choreographer Kenneth MacMillan's L'Histoire de Manon expresses his fascination for wayward characters and dramatic subjects. Book your tickets now and don't miss out!
True to the plot of the famous 18th-century novel, he recreates the tragic story of Manon Lescaut and the Chevalier Des Grieux. The choreographer builds his ballet around a mosaic of excerpts from Massenet, finding in the latter's music all the drama, vitality and romanticism essential to this great danced fresco. Crowd and ball scenes follow sublime pas de deux until the ballet's tragic conclusion.
