If you’re a lover of Italian Renaissance, don’t miss a stroll to the Piazza dei Signori to admire the 15th century Loggia del Consiglio. Sadly you can’t go in but you can admire its ornate exterior.
It was built when the city was under the control of the Venetian Republic (697AD-1797AD) The main purpose of this loggia was to host the lords of Verona and nowadays the building is still used for governing the provinces of Verona. The Renaissance exterior of the loggia has columns and arcades. The perfect symmetry continues on the second floor where windows are paired and all of them have columns in the middle. In the middle of the building, you can see blue emblems with yellow crosses representing the Veronese Arts. They were created around the middle of the-13th century when the city was still independent. Finally on the top floor there are figures of the most important men of the city.
