Hamburg Hauptbahnhof is the central train station in the city of Hamburg.
During the Second World War, the station was severely damaged by the bombing.
Several parts of the building had to be completely rebuilt, for example, one of the clock towers was completely destroyed. The station was renovated between 1985 and 1991. During this period the lobby was rebuilt into a shopping centre. The Wandelhalle has restaurants, florists, kiosks, pharmacies and more. The Deutsche Bahn has been playing classical music since 2008 to drive away antisocial behaviour.
