Regional Archeological Museum Antonio Salinas, Palermo

This archaeological museum inside a Renaissance monastery, is the most ancient museum on the island of Sicily. It was built in the 16th century and dedicated to the famous Sicilian archaeologist Antonio Salinas.

The museum has some of Sicily’s best collections of ancient Greek, Punic and Roman artefacts, as well as many items relating to the history of Sicily. The most notable part of the exhibition is the famous ruins from the Temples of Selinunte, one of the most important structures of Western ancient Greek art.
