Giardino Garibaldi, Palermo, Italy

This  garden was built between 1861 and 1864 to celebrate the birth of the Italian Nation.

Enjoy a gelato underneath one of the exotic trees inside the Giardino Garibaldi which is just a  short 10-minute walk from the city centre in the quietest piazza in Palermo, Piazza Marina.

Don’t miss Palermo’s oldest tree, a 150-year-old ficus Benjamina, which is 25 meters high as well as many other exotic trees including palms, figs and banyans.
