San Cristoforo, Lucca

There is very little information about this pretty church, except that it dates back to the 11th-century and was rebuilt in the mid-12th century.

The facade is in contrasting stripes of stone, like many churches in Pisa and Florence and  has blind arches supported by columns. The portal, with its ornate reliefs, is said to be the work of Guidetto, a leading Luccan sculptor who is also responsible for the ornate work on Lucca's Cathedral, (the Duomo of San Martino).
