Museo del Novecento, Milan: all year

The Museum of Novecento is one of the most important museums of modern art in Italy.

Located right next to the famous Duomo, it is definitely worth visiting it if you are in the center of Milan. However, it is also completely different to other monuments located in the same square; in fact the structure itself was built during Mussolini’s rule and then slightly modified before the museum’s opening in 2010 in order to perfectly match with the pieces of contemporary art exposed there.

The museum’s permanent exposition features works by famous Futurists and 20th century sculptors. There you can find paintings by Picasso, Matisse and De Chirico and many others. Also, definitely do not miss the chance to visit the museum’s terrace from which you can enjoy an amazing view of Milan’s Cathedral. The museum’s restaurant is also worth visiting – apart from great quality of the food, you will be able to watch the crowded Piazza del Duomo from above.
