When you think of Pigalle, images of the Boulevard de Clichy, the Moulin Rouge, and slightly seedy sex shops probably pop up, but thankfully the 9ème arrondissement has a few better things to offer. Head a little further south of the Boulevard de Clichy and you’ll stumble across the Rue des Martyrs: a street lined with alternative cafés, quaint flower shops, and fresh veg markets.

Perched on the corner of Rue des Martyrs and Rue tTudaine, you’ll find the KB Caféshop, with a modern matte black finish; a safe haven to escape the hustle and bustle of South Pigalle. This café is consistently packed to the rafters - a testament to the gorgeous coffee and sumptuously tempting cakes on offer. Pick up a slice of their delectable carrot cake (€5) and wash it down with one of their perfectly spiced chai lattes (€5.50), or let their welcoming staff talk you into a healthier option of vibrant salad (€8). During the week it’s the perfect place for a working lunch with free wifi and vibrant co-working spaces, or treat yourself to a fresh breakfast of tartines for only €4.
