Le Musée de l'Armée: The tomb of Napoleon I, Paris

The Army Museum, probably the best in its kind, was founded in 1905 at the Hôtel des Invalides. It is home to the greatest collection of military history and art in the world, including weapons, armour, technology, uniforms, emblems and works of art. The collection spans centuries of military history, from antiquity to the 20^th century, and includes information about wars and battles, the lives of soldiers, development of tactics and technology, and memorabilia from famous military leaders.

The museum is divided into seven spaces: the Main Courtyard and artillery collections, the old department, old armour and weapons from the 13th - 17th-century, the modern department, from Louis XIV to Napoleon III, 1643 - 1870 the Dôme des Invalides, tomb of Napoleon I, the contemporary department, the two World Wars 1871 - 1945, the Charles de Gaulle Monument, and the the Cathedral of Saint-Louis des Invalides.
