Italy’s largest theatre is in Palermo, just a 10-minute walk from the city centre. It was built in the late 19th-century in the neoclassical style and has a unique exterior inspired by the Greek temples.
Take a tour of the theatre to see its detailed interior including the foyer, the auditorium (containing 1,381 seats), the royal box, Pompeian Hall and the choir room. If you’re lucky, you may see the artists rehearsing on stage during your visit. Tours are offered in five European languages, including English, and last approximately 30 minutes.
