The Vatican Gardens are owned by the Pope with a purpose of providing a tranquil place for himself.  The 23-hectare park covers approximately half of Vatican City.  The gardens were created during the Renaissance and Baroque period.  Visitors are surrounded by lovely plants, sculptures, and fountains. 

The gardens are private as only guided tours are allowed in.  The Vatican Gardens are a highly recommended attraction because it is a nice break from the hustle and bustle of Rome.  You will be able to admire the beauty of Vatican City.
