Glasgow Botanic Gardens, Glasgow

In the heart of the city’s West End, Glasgow’s Botanic Gardens is home to an overwhelming array of exotic plants housed in several glasshouses.

You’ll find the most famous of these at the eastern edge of the gardens, the magnificent Kibble Palace, designed by John Kibble in the 1860s to cover 2137 metres squared of temperate and tropical flora. Make sure you leave time to explore the wooded copses and riverside walks along the River Kelvin.
