On the University of Glasgow campus in the city’s West End, this collection of museums includes the Hunterian Museum, the Hunterian Art Gallery, the Mackintosh House, the Zoology Museum and the Anatomy Museum.
Founded in 1807, the original collection of rare and important artefacts belonged to the 18th-century Scottish anatomist and physician, William Hunter. Today you can still view some of this original collection, alongside the vast new exhibits covering everything from ancient Egypt to insect life, from medical instruments to Captain Cook’s ethnographic objects, as well as a major art collection.
