Hardwick Hall, Chesterfield

Built between 1590 and 1597, Hardwick Hall remains open for the public now to observe one of the finest examples early English Renaissance architecture.

Visitors can climb the 66 steps of Bess of Hardwick's original processional route, and experience the incredible historic rooms. Hardwick's landscaped gardens in and around the estate also make a great walk.
