The museum has one of the largest plaster cast collections in the world, with over 450 casts on display.
The collection spans the period of the Graeco-Roman world, covering a time period from 1700 BCE to 400 CE, featuring some of the most recognisable pieces of ancient greek art, but also including Roman statues dating to the Christian era. It’s research collections of sherds and epigraphic squeezes are excellent resources for study and teaching, and you can draw in the Cast Gallery. Some of the collection’s highlights include: Sounion Kouros, The Pediments of the Temple of Zeus Olympia and Farnese Hercules.
