Serranos Towers, Valencia

These impressive pentagon-shaped towers from the 14th century are considered to be the biggest Gothic city gateway in Europe. They were designed by Pere Balaguer.

In the past they have been used as prison cells as well as a venue for city events.

The towers are one of the 12 gateways that formed part of the ancient city wall, the Christian Wall (Muralla cristiana), of the city of Valencia.

From the very top of the building, you can enjoy an incredible view of Valencia. One of the famous uses of the tower is “crida”, the opening ceremony of Las Fallas which is held just in front of the building.
