In the neighborhood of Landstraße in Vienna, the creations of Austrian architect Friedensreich Hundertwasser seem to come alive in uniformity in the middle of the palaces and the surrounding streets. 

After the enormous success of the famous HundertwasserHaus in 1986, “the doctor of architecture”, how he often loved to describe himself, also achieved the KunstHaus: an expositive space constructed in the former furniture factory Thonet. 

Here, at one time, came famous products, the seats utilized by many cafes and restaurants; characterized by unmistakable seatback of curved wood. 

The building of the KunstHaus today hosts temporary shows, artistic laboratories and a permanent collection of the main works of Hundertwasser.

The colors and the curvy lines designed on the facades of the KunstHaus, also repeat themselves in the interior.  The pavement to the chessboard of the restaurant TIAN Bistro and the embellished walls of tile and painted pillars, create a fairy tale and surreal atmosphere.  Even walking is possible to sense the curve of this building that seems to lay down on waves and the irregularity of the natural terrain.
