Have you ever wondered how a house was made by a psychoanalyst? In Vienna you can see it with your own eyes entering the museum dedicated to Sigmund Freud in Berggasse.

Founded in 1971 in the presence of Anna Freud. This is one of three museums for Sigmund Freud (Inc. his birth house in Czech Republic and in his last home in London). With plans to extend the museum in 2020, the Freud museum is only going to get better. Inherited by daughter and funded by several people and charities the museum is certainly worth visiting.

As you Ring the door as if you were his patient and be transported back to the beginning of psychology in the 19^th century. With the original books, photos and furniture its thrilling to even be where he has been.

Explore his rooms, where he lived for 47 years. The influence of psychoanalysis on art and society is displayed through a program of special exhibitions and a modern art collection.The museum consists of Freud's former practice and a part of his old private quarters.

The display includes original items owned by Freud, the practice's waiting room, and parts of Freud's extensive antique collection. The museum contains an archive of images containing around two thousand documents, mostly photographs, but also paintings, drawings, and sculptures. The collection consists of almost all the existing photos of Sigmund Freud and his family, many photos of Anna Freud and photos from psychoanalytic congresses etc.

Unfortunately, Freuds famous couch is now in the London museum, along with many more original furnishings. This is because when he was forced to exile due to his Jewish ancestry he could take his belongings to London.

Additionally, you can learn about the other historical legacies which have lived in the house. Such as the author of Bambi.
