Considered one of the most beautiful baroque palaces of Vienna, the Kinsky Palace is a magnificent example of eighteenth century architecture.  It appears on the triangular square of Freyung, where one can also find the Church of Scozzesi and the fountain that represents the four rivers of the Austro-Hungarian empire.

It was built starting in 1713 as the residence for the Count Wirich Philipp von Daun, for this palace is also known as Palais Daun-Kinsky.  Here the Polish general Josef Poniatosky, marshal of France, fought on the side of Napoleon during the campaign of Russia.

The white and yellow façade is finely decorated with medals and the richest low relief.  The interior is just as luxurious, with plenty of gold inserts and crystal chandeliers, while in the atrium it is possible to admire the most beautiful frescos that overcome the stairs.

Today the Kinsky Palace hosts numerous shows and events, and is often rented out for private celebrations.
