Augarten, Vienna: All Year

The Augarten Park makes up part of the Augarten Palace, a baroque building which is famous for being the home of the choir academy: The Vienna Boy’s Choir.

Within Vienna’s Leopoldstadt district the magnificent Augarten Park stretches out over more than 50 hectares.

This green area makes up part of the Augarten Palace, a baroque building which is famous for being the home of the choir academy: The Vienna Boy’s Choir. The palace dates back to the 17th Century but was completely restored by Charles Hapsberg VI, and used by the Austrian royal family to host illustrious guests and organise glamorous parties.

The baroque style garden is one of the oldest in all Vienna, performed in by Mozart, Beethoven and Schubert. The green lawns of the Augarten are the setting for some of the most important cultural activity in Vienna.

Divento recommends…

Finding the anti-aircraft tower that was built in the park during the Second World War. Despite never being completely finished it has become one of the defining symbols of the park.

Be sure not to miss the luxurious porcelain factory hidden in the heart of the Augarten (click here for additional information).
