Fawley Vineyard, Oxfordshire, England

The first  hectare of the Fawley vineyard was planted in 1985 with 500 Bacchus vines. This grape variety has proved very successful, producing quality still and sparkling wines.

The vineyard is set high in the Chilterns in village of Fawley, in  an area of outstanding beauty,  near Henley on Thames.  Pruning generally takes place in February and March, whilst the summer is spent  tending the vines.  Friends gather to harvest the crop in mid October, when the  grapes are transported in a vintage lorry to the award-winning wine maker, Vince Gower, at the Stanlake Park Wine Estate, near Twyford.
