Giotto's Bell Tower, Florence

The Gothic style bell tower created by Giotto is a must see attraction!  He designed it between 1334 and 1337.  It is about 84 meters tall covered in pink, green, and white marble.  The most popular activity here is to climb all the way to the top.  The climb will definitely be worth it once you see the panoramic view of the city.  Although it is over 400 steps, there are some landings scattered throughout the climb to pause and admire the view from that level.  The floors of the monument are decorated with statues and sculptures.  Giotto’s Bell Tower is truly a magnificent site to see!
