Jean Cocteau Museum, Menton, Provence

Located at the foot of the old town of Menton, opposite the covered market and on the seafront, the Musée Jean Cocteau Collection Séverin Wunderman opened its doors in November 2011.

The museum presents the poet's work in all its facets, from the 1910s to the 1950s, and offers visitors exhibition spaces for the collections and temporary exhibitions, an educational workshop, a graphic art cabinet, a documentary resource area, a café and a bookshop.

The visit to the museum continues in the Bastion Musée Jean Cocteau, which was designed by Jean Cocteau between 1958 and 1963. The famous drawings of the Innamorati, the studies for the decorations of the wedding hall, as well as the pottery made in the Madeline-Jolly workshop are presented there.

The museum thus becomes the first and most important public resource worldwide for the work of Jean Cocteau.

In September 2005, the Ministry of Culture and Communication approved the registration of the Séverin Wunderman collection in the inventory of the Musée Jean Cocteau, which has been awarded the "Musée de France" label since 2003.
