The Church of Santa Maria Forisportam, which is also known as Santa Maria Bianca, is a Romanesque-style, Catholic church, which dates back to the 12th century on Piazza Santa Maria Bianca in Lucca. It has a small monastery and cloister attached to it.
Inside there are several paintings including St Lucy and Assumption by Guercino, Dormition and Assumption of the Virgin (1386) by Angelo Puccinelli in the sacristy, Coronation of the Virgin (1659) by Girolamo Scaglia, and Trinity with Saint Francis and Jerome by Alessandro Ardenti. There is a sundial on the floor and a paleo Christian sarcophagus (stone tomb) which is used as a font. The church is said to have been copied from the cathedral at Pisa.
