The Naschmarkt is a great place to go if you feel in need of some healthy, fresh food. This market stages a fantastic array of fresh produce, bound to set your mouth watering and your tummy rumbling. This is one of the oldest markets in Europe.

The range of spices and delicious food comes from all over the world. Rub shoulders with chefs from the most famed restaurants of the city, hunting for fresh ingredients alongside the copious other foodies. Even if you do not intend to stock up on food - or to grab a bite at one of the more than 100 stalls and restaurants offering mouthwatering specialities from around the globe - the market is definitely a great place to visit. Walk through the streets, enjoy the smell of spices and take a glance at the gorgeous Art Nouveau buildings lining the streets.

Besides the food and spices offered by the stall-keepers, there is also a flea-market on Saturdays which is well worth visiting. Definitely a relaxing way to spend a morning or afternoon if you've been trapsing around the city at a rate of knots. Right next to the market is the Café Drechsler, which opens at 4.00 in the morning. Come this time of the morning and you'll be sharing your coffee and croissants with nightbirds fresh from a hard night out in the Viennese clubs.
