Belvedere Gardens, Vienna: All year

Between water games and long boulevards of the whitest ice, the Belvedere Gardens (Schloss Belvdere) in Vienna are considered some of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Europe.

Between water games and long boulevards of the whitest ice, the Belvedere Gardens in Vienna are considered some of the most beautiful baroque gardens in Europe.

These magnificent gardens in the French style were designed by Dominque Girard, that in the past had also contributed to the construction of the Versailles gardens, commissioned by the famous King Sole.

The magnificent parterre that connects the larger Belvedere palace with the smaller one, is composed of three terraces that downgrade following the natural slope of the terrain.

The Kammergarten, situated in the smaller part of the complex, remains in a more secluded position, and in the past was intended for the exclusive use of the Prince Eugene of Savoy.  Here was also an orangery that was also able to be reheated; in its place today, a part of the collection of the Galleries of Belvedere is housed here.

Don’t miss the Alpengarten: the garden that collects many types of plant species of the Alpine landscapes and that also consists of a rich collection of Japanese bonsais.
