Musée Renoir de Cagnes-sur-Mer, Provence

The Renoir Museum offers the chance to experience the atmosphere in which Renoir lived at the end of his life. The house-museum presents, in addition to intimate places charged with emotion (bathroom, bedrooms, garden...), a collection of exceptional works, some of which are the property of the commune, others of which have been deposited by national and local museums and private collections.

The Renoir Museum is located in the heart of a magnificent estate planted with olive and citrus trees, from which one can discover a superb panorama that stretches as far as the Cap d'Antibes.

With its collections, its 15 original paintings, its 40 sculptures, its furniture and its studio... it is a moving testimony to the creative and familiar universe of the Impressionist Master who spent the last 12 years of his life in Cagnes-sur-Mer.

After a complete renovation in 2013, the Renoir Museum now offers visitors the chance to rediscover the site as Renoir knew it. New spaces have been opened, including a set of seventeen plaster sculptures (deposited by the Renoir and Guino families), two new original paintings and an intimate archive.
