National Garden, Athens

Formerly the royal gardens as designed by Queen Amalie in 1838, this 15 hectacre park in the centre of Athens was opened to the public in 1920.

Take a stroll through its 15.5 hectares of green spaces filled with hundreds of species of plants as well as ponds (complete with ducks and turtles), and plenty of places to stop and eat if you’re peckish.
