Contemporary art gallery in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, and Joan Miró’s birthplace
Maybe it’s something in the water, but this place seems to be a breeding ground for contemporary artists. Not only was this building the birthplace of one of Spain’s household names, Joan Miró, but Artevistas Gallery now displays the work of over sixty emerging contemporary artists.
Tucked down a side-street in Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter, you are bound to find something that catches your eye here. There is no theme to the work that is on display, except that all of the artists are at the forefront of both the local and international contemporary art scene, pushing artistic frontiers and forging new paths. Their motives and trajectories are diverse, but this little gallery is a meeting place where their paths may briefly cross. Take a look at their temporary exhibitions in our “What’s Hot” section.
