Andelot Castle, Andelot-Morval, France

In the heart of the Jura, the Chateau d'Andelot was built in the 12th century, and today retains the appearance of a medieval fortress.

The visit of this fortress will take you through drawbridges and heavy gates, crossing ditches, to penetrate the three enclosures of the castle and reach the interior. You will then discover a building with the appearance of a fortified castle.

In July 1789, the castle was burned by the villagers during the Great Fear, at the same time as they destroyed their charters of servility.

From the original buildings, only the Dungeon remains, and an entrance dating from the 14th century. However, since 1926, the castle has been listed as a Historic Monument.

You can rent this castle for your events, or to spend a night in an unusual setting and eat in its quality restaurant.
