Church of the Divine Saviour, Seville

This is the largest church in the city after the Cathedral of Our Lady of the See of Seville.

The building is on the Plaza Salvador, equidistant from the Flamenco Dance Museum and the Delimbo contemporary art gallery. It  was constructed  on the site occupied by the Ibn Adabbas Mosque, the first great mosque of Seville, built in 829-830. The construction of the church was begun in 1674 by the architect Leonardo de Figueroa and finished in 1712. Later on, the temple underwent  thorough restoration  that was completed at the beginning of 2008,  restoring  it to its former glory. In its courtyard you can see  elements from the Roman and Visigothic periods.
