This is the first monographic exhibition of the Greek artist Takis' work in Barcelona.
Throughout seventy years of career, Greek artist Takis (Athens, 1925) has created innovative, playful and powerful works, reinventing formats in painting, sculpture and music in relation to energy. Takis was one of the pioneers of the most advanced experimental art of the sixties. Although his first sculptures referred to classical Greek culture specifically, he soon began to innovate by incorporating natural forces (mainly magnetism, light and electricity) to his sculptures and paintings, as well as to his performances.
Sound, light and electromagnetic energy are the main elements of a rich personal language. This exhibition highlights the essential poetics and beauty of the electromagnetic universe explored by an artist who sought to discover the power of the invisible forces that enliven the world to the viewer.
