Iglesia de Santo Tomé, Toledo, Spain

Located in the historical centre of Toledo, this 12th-century Christian church perfectly embodies the fusion of cultures within Medieval Spain.

The church was re-built during the 14th-century on the site of an old Mosque. The mosque's minaret was transformed into a bell tower, one of Toledo's best examples of Mudejar architecture. Inside the bell tower, there is a pipe organ which is still used today for organ concerts.

Don’t miss the special room inside the church containing one of El Greco’s most famous paintings the Burial of the Count of Orgaz, significant because it was the Count of Orgaz who commissioned the church.
