During a 90-minute nighttime tour around the Old Town, you uncover the skeletons in the capital’s closet, of murders, executions and diseases, the unsavoury side of the city’s historical underbelly.
It is said that the still-unsolved assassination of Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme in 1986 sparked the Scandinavian obsession with dark “nordic noir” crime drama, and the Stockholm Ghost Walk channels that spirit.
Happily, their website also keeps a tally of how many “souls” have survived the spooky city stroll since its beginning in 2008. Young children are advised not to come on the tour.
