Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Berlin

A Holocaust memorial in the centre of Berlin.

In the middle of Berlin, 2,711 grey concrete columns stand in memorial of all the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. The architect Peter Eisenmen designed and built this memorial which was unveiled in 2005.

You can walk amongst this maze of columns and then visit the underground information centre and learn more about what this memorial commemorates.

The memorial itself has no inscriptions, but there is an underground exhibition that lists the names of all the Jews murdered during the Holocaust.
