Musée gallo-romain, Lyon: All year

Next to the ruins of the Roman Amphitheatres on Fourvière hill is the Musée gallo-romain where visitors can learn more about Lyon's fascinating history.

After marveling  at the ruins of the Roman Amphitheatres - which  you can visit for free - head to the Gallo-Roman Museum of Lyon. Statues, mosaics, and objects which were used daily by the Romans in the Rhône Valley, show the fascinating history of Lyon (named Lugdunum by the Romans), which was the capital of the Gallic provinces from 43 BC.

Entry to the museum is also completely free for all visitors on the first Sunday of every month.
