Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

Today it covers over 70 acres of land just a mile from Edinburgh’s city centre, but the Royal Botanic Garden was founded over 300 years ago in 1670 as a physic garden to grow medicinal plants.

Widely-acclaimed as one of the most amazing botanic gardens in the world, it’s well-worth your time to explore the exotic flora, as well as the incredible views of Edinburgh’s skyline. Take a look inside any of the 10 glasshouses in the botanic gardens, home to over 3000 exotic plants from around the world, and don’t leave without admiring the astonishing 200-year-old palm tree.
