The Corniche du President John Fitzgerald Kennedy is a boulevard offering outstanding views along the Mediterranean Sea and its islands stretching from the Catalans beach (not far away from the Old Port) to the Prado Seaside Park.
The boulevard, often simply called la Corniche, got its name in 1963 after the assassination of the president of United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Head over here for magnificent views of the Mediterranean Sea and Marseille. The boulevard is long - while strolling along you can find numerous attractions such as Parc Valmer, the little fishermen port Vallon des Auffes, the Monument aux morts de l'Armée d'Orient et des terres lointaines, many 19th century villas, restaurants, cafes and shops. La Corniche Kennedy also has the longest bench in the world which stretches approximately three kilometres with almost no interruptions.
