The restored Castello di Montalto Dora gives you a glimpse of how dukes and duchesses lived in late-medieval times. The castle was rebuilt in the 18th-20th century on the site of a 12th-century fortress. Its enormous tower is built in a Gothic style, and the walls of its chapel are covered in colourful 15th-century fresco paintings. Explore the nearby park - home to various species of Piedmont trees and plants. Climb to the top of Mount Crovero to see the area of the Five Lakes in Ivrea and its natural, geological and historical attractions, such as the wetlands, the Roman aqueduct, and the archeological artifacts in The Archaeological Park of Lake Pistono.
