Antiquarium, Milazzo, Sicily

The Antiquarium is an Archaeological Museum located in the "Quartiere degli Spagnoli" of Milazzo.

The Antiquarium, also known as the Nino Ryolo Museum, contains artefacts collected in the Milazzo area dating from the Neolithic period up through the Byzantine period up until the modern-day.

Particular emphasis is placed on the pre-Greek cultures in Sicily which illustrate the historical and territorial importance of Milazzo, offering a glimpse of the society that produced and used them. There are grave goods, pottery in "Gnathia style" (decorated with black paint or red figures), various kinds of jewellery, which testify to religious, matrimonial and daily customs.
