The Musée Jacquemart-André invites lovers of Italian painting to discover an exhibition that will plunge you into the heart of the works of the famous painter Sandro Botticelli.

A retrospective focusing on the artist's activity in the second half of the 15th century, the exhibition features some forty works, as well as several paintings by his Florentine contemporaries on whom Botticelli had a profound influence. The exhibition features two of his greatest masterpieces, The Birth of Venus and Spring, which bear witness to the influence and changes in Florentine society during the Medici reign.

The exhibition also highlights the importance of the original creation and serial production, typical of the Renaissance. You will be able to discover the artist not only as a painter but also as an entrepreneur and trainer. The exhibition illustrates in chronological order Sandro Botticelli's stylistic development, the links between his works and the culture of his time, and the influence he himself had on Florentine artists.

The exhibition will benefit from loans from prestigious institutions such as the Louvre Museum, the National Gallery in London, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Vatican Museums and Libraries, the Uffizi, the Galleria Sabauda in Turin, the Galleria dell'Accademia and the Bargello National Museum in Florence, the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin, the Alte Pinakothek in Munich and the Städel Museum in Frankfurt.
