Historic Centre of Krakow, Poland

The historic Centre of Krakow, in the centre of Krakow Old Town, was formerly the capital of Poland in the 18th-century. 

This UNESCO World Heritage Site once had Europe’s largest market square. It was almost completely destroyed during the Second World War but has been completely restored. You can also see remnants of the medieval town, Kazimierz and its 14th-century fortifications and in the southern part there are ancient synagogues, Jagiellonian University and the burial place of the King’s of Poland. This 13th-century merchant town is overlooked by Royal Wawel Castle.
