Venice is one of the world’s most beautiful cities with 117 islands separated by canals and linked by bridges in northeastern Italy, admired for its uniqueness, architecture and cultural heritage. Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city attracts over 50,000 tourists a day, with famous attractions including the St Mark’s Basilica, the Grand Canal, and the Piazza San Marco.

The city, as a major centre of art during the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque, is also famous for its “Venetian School” and its Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque architecture with top attractions, including the Doge’s Palace, the Ca’d’Oro, the Ca’Pesaro and the Ca’Rezzonico. The city hosts several important events and festivals as well, including the Carnival of Venice in February, the Venice Biennale in April, the Festa del Redentore in July, and the Venice Film Festival, the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world hosted in late August or early September on the island of Lido at Palazzo del Cinema.
