Tibidabo, Barcelona: All Year

From exploring the centre of Barcelona, you may have noticed a hill in the distance with what looks like a castle and a Ferris wheel on top of it. You wouldn’t be far wrong, because on the top of this hill, known as Tibidabo, you will find the Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor and an amusement park, offering stunning panoramic views of the city and the ocean. If you like hiking, we highly recommend walking up the windy road and enjoying the stunning views all the way up the hillside. Take any bus directed to Tibidabo from Plaça Catalunya and from the final stop the walk will take little over an hour. It’s not that arduous but make sure you take lots of water. Alternatively, take Bus T2A from Plaça Catalunya in front of the Desigual shop and enjoy the easy ride all the way up to the park! Once on the hill, be sure to climb the stairs to the church entrance and enjoy one of the most impressive views in Barcelona. The architecture inside the church and its intricate stained glass windows are also very pretty and worth a look. While you’re so high up, it’s definitely worth entering the Tibidabo Amusement Park to enjoy the rides, designed to go even higher at slow paces so you can enjoy the views even more. You’ll find the famous Ferris Wheel, roller-coasters, a swing seat ride, fountains, shows and much more! It makes an entertaining day out for families with young children, but even if you don’t like the idea of the amusement park, don’t miss the experience the hill itself has to offer.
