Park Chantrerie, Nantes

Dating back to the 19th century, the Parc de la Chantrerie holds an impressive view on the Erdre river in Nantes.

The park used to be an estate of 37 hectares that belonged to the Nantes Cathedral before it was divided into two separate areas. Part of the estate was transformed into the Veterinary School of Nantes whereas 18 hectares were preserved for a public park. Its landscape was designed by Dominique Noisette who was was also responsible for the design of the Parc de Procé. The park still holds today the important educational farm where animals wonder from time to time.
