Small and cosy art gallery in El Born, Barcelona
This homely little hive of activity is the workshop and exhibition space of Argentinian artist Darío Sigismondo. He has exhibited his work all over the world, but has settled in Barcelona since 2004.
The quirky display of items on the street outside are what will initially catch your eye, as a stuffed raccoon beckons you inside. Every inch of wall space is covered with abstract, atmospheric and moody oil paintings. Thick, textured layers of paint build up an impression of something, conjuring up a mood or a feeling rather than representing tangible objects. With a very relaxed and informal atmosphere, this little gallery is a delight to poke around.
